Hello there, thank you for taking the time to visit my website, and more to the point, to find out more about me! My name is Pete and I love taking photos, everything from landscapes, to portraits. I find writing about myself is one of the most difficult things to do, but I'll try my best and explain to you why I love photography so much.

I have never ever been taught photography. I have never been on a photography course, or been taught by any photographer. In my mind the best way to learn something you are passionate about is to get up, go out there, and do it. I take photos of anything and everything, taking as many shots as I can and then looking over them later. I take photos of things that I like, and that interest me. I enjoy trying new techniques and approaches, whatever the outcome may be. I also love digital editing, whether that be removing imperfections, or adding effects and filters.

I've only been taking photos 'seriously' for a couple of years, but I thought it was about time I did something with my work, rather than just letting it sit on my computer! So, I set up I Love Photos, a place to showcase and hopefully sell (fingers crossed) the things I have captured and enjoyed. All of my work is available for purchase so please buy some! I would also love to hear what people think, and if you have bought a photo, what you have used it for.

So how did I become interested in photography I hear you ask? I remember like it was yesterday! For my 8th birthday from my parents I received a book all about photography, along with a plastic camera. For several years I went around with my little red camera and occasionally the odd disposable taking pictures of things that most 10 year olds take pictures of. When I was about 14 I got my very first digital camera, a Nikon Coolpix 3100. It was at this point when I really became interested in photography, and producing great photos, rather than just the novelty of taking pictures.

When I turned 21 I then invested in a digital SLR, which is what I currently use today. I shoot using a variety of different approaches and styles, depending on what I am trying to achieve. Since purchasing a digital SLR I have been exposed to a whole new world of photography, which I am keen to spend more and more time in.

The thing that really interests me in photography is the exact same thing that appealed to me when I was 8... the fact that you can take a snapshot of something and then keep it. Isn't that amazing? A specific place and time is saved as a photo, which you can show to other people. The other thing that's incredible about photography is that everyone that views that photo will perceive it completely differently from one another. For these reasons alone, I will always love photography and taking photos!
